imagesBrandi Stilke, 28, an inmate of Utah State Prison, had been prepared to go to trial Nov. 20 in 2nd District Court on the custody issues regarding her 9-year-old daughter. However, the trial was cancelled when arrangements couldn’t be finalized to transport her from prison to the Ogden courthouse.

“But we set up a new trial date, just in case, since she’s back and forth a lot,” said father Goss’ Ogden Child Custody Attorney Lawyer.

September last year, Stilke was sentenced to prison for the Feb. 23, 2011, car crash that killed her other daughter, 3-year-old Aubree Jo Anderson.

Shortly after the fatal crash, Stilke began to fight for custody rights to her 9-year-old daughter, which were in dispute in a custody proceeding begun by Nicholas Goss, the father of the 9-year-old, in the Ogden courts before Aubree’s death.

Attorneys on both sides now say Stilke is prepared to sign an agreement permanently giving up joint legal custody, accepting the fact she likely can only expect some kind of visitation privileges upon her release from prison.

The new trial date is Feb. 13 before 2nd District Judge Michael DiReda.
